PHOTOS: Kyle Rittenhouse Acquitted, Portland Antifascists Hit the Streets
On Nov. 19, Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted of charges stemming from his Aug. 25, 2020 killing of two antifascist protesters and severely wounding another during a protest for Jacob Blake in Kenosha, Wisconsin.
During the Kenosha protest, Rittenhouse shot and killed both Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber. Gaige Grosskreutz was shot in the arm and survived.
Following Rittenhouse’s acquittal, the re-energized Portland antifascist community took to the streets in protest outside of the Multnomah County Justice Center.
After several minutes of confrontation with a riot line armed with several less-lethal munitions launchers—including what appear to be FN 303’s and a Wilson Combat 870—at the entrance to the building’s underground parking garage entrance, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Department declared a riot.
Following the protest, officers allegedly stationed themselves near bridges and gave out citations to those leaving the area.
