PHOTOS: The 5th Annual Art Car Fire Fest at North Douglas County Fair

This year marked the 100 year anniversary of the founding of the North Douglas County Fair — making it the oldest continuously run fair in Oregon. Over the three day festival, there is a broad range of events and auctions. Highlights are the Saturday car painting event capped off by the fire show in the evening where fire performers from across the region congregate in the Square for a free form performance illuminated by blasts of a giant propane flames from a rig reminiscent of a Mad Max camp.

  • An individual wearing a white corset-type top is holding a hoop above their head. The inner-side of the hoop has what appear to be lit-up LED lights.
  • An individual is standing with their arms outstretched and is looking towards the camera. They're wearing a blueish-green beanie and a tie-dye style sports bra-type top and skintight pants. Both of their arms feature tattoos and they're holding rods with fire at the end of them.
  • An individual, wearing a blue and yellow snapback-type cap and hispanic-esque top looks off to the right of the photo. Under their left armpit is a long shaft with balls of fire at each end --- one in front of them and another behind their opposite elbow.
  • An individual wearing a backwards red cap, large amber-lensed aviators, a brown button up shortsleeve shirt and baggy, sweat-like pants. Leaving their right hand is a juggling "pin" with fire coming out of it. In the other hand, pointed down, is another "pin" with fire.
  • A shirtless individual wearing a red band over their forehead and light-colored pants has their right arm outstretched up. To the right of their head is the end of a long rod and it's aflame.
  • An individual with short dark hair and dark stubbly facial hair wears a grey sweatshirt. Both of their hands are in front of their chest and have let go of a long rod. At either end of the rod, to their left and right, are three burning "pods"
