BREAKING: Six People Injured During Shooting Outside Downtown Eugene’s WOW Hall, Shooter At-Large

“I think this is about as close as you’re going to get,” said Eugene Police Chief Chris Skinner when referring to whether the incident could be considered a “mass shooting.”

On Jan. 14, around 9:30 p.m., the Eugene Police Department received dozens of reports of shots fired outside of the WOW Hall on 8th Street.

The shooting happened outside the rear entrance during a concert. According to the venue’s website, the show featured Lil Bean & Zay Bang, Peacoat Gang, Savelle Tha Native, DRETHEMC, and Khoraan.

Around midnight, EPD Chief Chris Skinner arrived and held a brief press conference where he confirmed that the shooting had left six people injured — one of which is in critical condition.

The suspect, a man wearing a hoodie seen running west on 8th St, has not been identified.
